Thrive on God Series

God’s Love Is Infinite — But How Do We See It in a Corrupted World?

Many say “God is love.” Yet when we look around, we see war, injustice, sickness, betrayal, death, and suffering. For many, faith becomes difficult when reality looks nothing like Heaven. Some worship God out of fear, others out of habit, but very few out of pure, genuine love.

So the question rises:
How can we truly love God… when the world He created seems filled with darkness?

Love by Fear — Is It Real Love?

Some follow God because they fear punishment.
Some obey because they don’t want to go to hell.
But fear does not build a relationship — it only creates distance.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.”
1 John 4:18

If we only serve God to avoid His wrath, we do not truly know Him. Fear may keep us away from sin — but only love brings us close to His heart.

Why Is the World So Wicked If God Is So Good?

God created a world designed for free will — not for robots. Love cannot exist without choice. But choice comes with consequences. From the Garden of Eden until now, humans often chose self over God, desire over obedience, pleasure over truth.

And sin gave birth to a corrupted system —
A world where life feeds on death,
Where power often overrules justice,
Where the innocent suffer,
And the guilty prosper.

Even creation itself cries:

“For the whole creation has been groaning…
waiting to be set free from decay.”
Romans 8:22-23

This world is not the final design. It is a temporary battlefield — and God will one day restore all things.

Why Does God Allow Pain?

Not all suffering is punishment — sometimes it is preparation.

Consider:

  • Gold must pass through fire to be pure.
  • Diamonds are formed under pressure.
  • Seeds must break before they grow.
  • Jesus Himself suffered before resurrection.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
Psalm 23:4

God does not enjoy our pain — but He uses pain to build strength, compassion, and deeper faith.

Seeing God’s Love — Even in Darkness

God’s love is not always loud.
Sometimes it is a whisper in the storm,
A hand in the fire,
A peace that the world cannot give.

We see His love when:
✔ A friend listens
✔ A prayer is answered
✔ Peace comes in chaos
✔ The heart finds forgiveness
✔ A new day begins after a dark night

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
His mercies are new every morning.”

Lamentations 3:22-23

How to Reconnect With God — Not by Fear, but by Love

1. Seek Him in Truth — Not Religion

Don’t follow rituals. Seek relationship.
Read His Word not as theory — but as a letter from your Father.

2. Talk to Him Honestly

Prayers don’t need fancy words.
Sometimes prayer is simply:

“God, I don’t understand… but help me trust You.”

3. Remember Eternity

This world is not home. We are travelers.
The real story starts after death, not before.

4. Choose Love Over Bitterness

Satan uses pain to create hate.
God uses pain to create love and compassion.

5. Worship in the Storm

Praise is powerful when life is easy —
But it becomes holy when life is hard.

God’s Love Is Not Gone — It Is Waiting

God has not abandoned humanity.
He is still calling. Still healing. Still saving.

His love is not fragile.
His plans are not shaken.
His presence has not disappeared.

He says:

“I have loved you with an everlasting love.”
Jeremiah 31:3

Not temporary.
Not emotional.
Not conditional.
Everlasting. Infinite. Eternal.

Final Reflection

To love God truly — we must look beyond what our eyes can see.
The world is wounded, but God is not its wound.
He is the cure.

Faith does not mean we understand everything.
It means we trust the One who does.

A Simple Prayer

Father, teach me to love You not by fear,
but with a pure and honest heart.
Help me see Your beauty even in the storm.
Strengthen my faith when the world feels dark.
Let Your infinite love heal my soul
and guide my steps every day.
Amen.
