Thrive on Life

From the very beginning of creation, God entrusted humanity with a sacred mission: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it” (Genesis 1:28). This was not a casual suggestion, but a divine calling. God, in His infinite love, gave women the miraculous gift of nurturing and bringing forth life. This was designed not only to celebrate Him but also to ensure the continuation of hope, faith, and generations that glorify the Lord.

Yet in today’s culture, especially among modern women in the West, this gift is increasingly rejected. Many now proclaim the virtues of a “childless life,” often framed as empowerment or freedom. Beneath the surface, however, this movement is steeped in selfishness and rebellion. In choosing to deny life, women are not rejecting societal pressure alone—they are rebelling against the very design of God.

The Parallels Between Modern Women and Lucifer’s Rebellion

The Bible tells us that Lucifer, once a glorious angel, fell because he sought to exalt himself above God. He turned from gratitude to pride, saying in his heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God” (Isaiah 14:13). This pride and rebellion destroyed him, and it is the same spirit that has crept into modern womanhood.

Instead of receiving the gift of motherhood as a calling to honor God, many women have turned inward, seeking self-glorification, comfort, and recognition. Just as Lucifer desired to be worshiped instead of worshiping his Creator, modern women often exalt personal ambition, career, and self-image above the divine role God designed for them.

The result is emptiness. Without fulfilling the purpose God gave—nurturing life, raising children, building families—our societies slide into despair. Nations without children have no future. Families without mothers lose their anchor. When women abandon their role, the foundation of civilization weakens.

Children Are the Future of Nations

It is clear from Scripture that children are not burdens, but blessings. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward” (Psalm 127:3). They are the future of nations, the hope for tomorrow, and the carriers of God’s promise through generations.

Men and women alike are tools in God’s design to ensure this multiplication continues. But when one gender abandons its role, chaos takes root. Today, we see declining birth rates, broken families, and rising despair in nations that once thrived on strong family values. Modern culture celebrates selfish lifestyles, but the long-term fruit is not joy—it is loneliness, despair, and societal collapse.

Life Is a Gift, Not a Burden

When God pours His love into His creation, it is always for life and flourishing. To reject life is to reject His blessing. A woman who chooses life, who raises her children in the love and fear of the Lord, is building not just her household but the very kingdom of God. Proverbs 31 paints this picture of a woman who fulfills her purpose with dignity and honor, and through her, her family and community thrive.

But when women echo the spirit of Lucifer—choosing pride, rebellion, and self before God’s design—the results are devastating. The chaos we see in broken families, fractured communities, and nations in decline is not accidental; it is the direct consequence of abandoning God’s gift of life.

Restoring Hope

If modern women are to thrive, they must rediscover their divine role in God’s creation. Life is not about self-glorification but about glorifying the Creator. True empowerment does not come from rebellion, but from obedience to God’s design. Children are not chains; they are blessings. Families are not limitations; they are legacies.

To thrive on life means to embrace the sacred gift God gave, to nurture, to multiply, and to create a future for the generations to come. Anything less is rebellion, and rebellion always leads to despair. But obedience to God’s design leads to flourishing, hope, and joy.

“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).
