Thrive on Lord God — Before It’s Too Late

Tagline: This life will end. Your soul will not. Now is the time to come home to God.

✦ Introduction: A Wake-Up Call Through the Elderly

Sometimes I get to meet old people—very old people—who can barely walk, drive, or even breathe. You can see it on their faces: the weight of time, the pain of existence, the slow fading of life.

And I’ve asked myself quietly, Why are they still alive? Why would God let someone linger in such a state? What’s the purpose of continuing in pain?

Then it hit me — it’s mercy.

In His goodness, Lord God grants us even our final breath as a chance to repent. A final window to return to Him, before it’s too late. Because after death, your fate is sealed. There is no negotiating from the grave.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
Hebrews 9:27

✦ When the Door Shuts, It Shuts for Good

We live like there’s always tomorrow. We sin like there’s no judgment. We chase the temporary pleasures of the world and ignore the eternal truth of the spirit.

But everything has a beginning — and an end.
Life is short. Eternity is forever.
The door to grace is open now. But it will not remain open forever.

✎ Thrive Note: Don’t wait until your final breath to seek the One who gave you your first.

✦ Life, Suffering, and the Chance to Come Back

Some people look at suffering in old age as something cruel. But what if it’s not?

What if it’s the final process of purification, the last opportunity to:

  • Reflect
  • Repent
  • Reconnect

And yes, it’s painful. But so is the process of being reborn spiritually. So is the breaking of pride, the confession of sin, the surrender of control.

We all carry a cross. But that cross, when carried with humility, can become the bridge to Heaven.

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Luke 9:23

✦ The Eternal Risk of Medical Aid in Dying

Around the world, “Medical Aid in Dying” is being promoted as a compassionate choice — a way to end suffering with dignity.

But here’s the hard truth: it may rob someone of their final chance to turn to God.

Ending life early could mean ending the process of repentance. Only someone who has no spiritual hope would choose death as escape — but what if hope is just one prayer away?

We don’t always understand why we suffer. But God always has a reason. And we are never truly alone in our pain.

✦ Repent While There’s Still Time

So many people say, “I’ll get right with God later.”
But later is not promised.

The Lord is calling now — in your youth, in your strength, in your clarity.

  • Don’t wait until your legs can’t carry you to the altar.
  • Don’t wait until your breath is too weak to pray.
  • Don’t wait until you’re staring at eternity through a hospital ceiling.

The time is now. Not tomorrow. Not at death. Now.

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”
Isaiah 55:6

✦ Death Is Not the End — It’s the Return Home

This life is temporary. Whether you live 25 or 95 years, the body will fall, but the soul will rise — to judgment or to joy.

We don’t talk enough about what comes next. Because we’re too busy chasing what’s now. But as followers of the Lord, we must live not for this fading world — but for the Kingdom of God.

✦ Let’s not just prepare for retirement.
✦ Let’s prepare for eternity.

✦ Final Word: Thrive in the Lord — Before It’s Too Late

One day your story will end.
But your soul will continue.

The question is — will you be among the chosen, or among the lost?

To thrive in the Lord before it’s too late is to say:

“I choose repentance now, not regret later.
I choose truth now, not comfort.
I choose Jesus — not just religion, not just emotion — but Jesus Himself.”

Because when the door shuts… it shuts.
And when you die, there is no coming back to fix what was broken.

So come to the Lord now. While there’s still breath. While there’s still time. While grace is still waiting.

→ Reflect Today:
If your life ended tonight, are you right with God?
If not, what is keeping you from turning back?
